The 4th International Tourism Exhibition In Tour Expo-2017 kicked off

The 4^th International Exhibition ''In Tour Expo 2017'' was launched on April 21 at Yerevan Expo Exhibition Complex. The event marked the opening of a new touristic season in Armenia and Artsakh. 

''In Tour Expo 2017'' exhibition is hosted by Expo Group LLC. It is aimed at identifying and representing the companies of tourism industry in Armenia and Artsakh. 

The official opening of exhibition was attended by the Chairperson of State Tourism Committee of Armenia Zarmine Zeytuntsyan, who welcomed the participants and highlighted the role of ''In Tour Expo” exhibition and noted that the Committee aims to promote sustainable tourism.

“Such exhibitions contribute to the preservation and development of human values, strengthening international solidarity and peace and increasing the role of Armenia in those processes”.

The chairperson also added that the exhibition raises the level of public attention and interest towards tourism.

Trade representative of Russian Federation Andrey Babko welcomed the participants and noted that Russia is Armenia’s main business partner and highlighted the role of Russian tourists in Armenia. “I am sure that Russian tourist is the main visitor of Armenia and in the future more Russian tourists will visit this beautiful country”. A. Babko mentioned that Armenia has touristic services equivalent to European standards. “There are few countries that have such high quality hotels and restaurants. The roads need to be reconstructed which in turn will develop car tourism and increase the level of tourism in Armenia”, said A. Babko.

Deputy Economy Minister of Artsakh Sergey Shahverdyan had a speech during the 4^thInternational Exhibition ''In Tour Expo 2017'', who mentioned that the World Tourism Organization declared  this year a year of sustainable development and emphasized the importance of Armenia’s and Artsakh’s participation in such exhibitions. 

During exhibition we had a talk with founding director of  Expo Group LLC Vahagn Mirijanyan.

• Mr. Mirijanyan, what is the goal of holding ''In Tour Expo''exhibitions in Armenia?

During the Expo we demonstrate Armenia’s tourism potential. We also represent the visitors the resort areas of our country and the most potential vacation options. Such events contribute to the development of tourism, as new destinations are launched and new tour packages are formed. The exhibition contributes to the strengthening of already existing ties and establishment of new ones.

• What news does the Expo have this year?

During the frameworks of exhibition the launch of Egyptian Airlines were officially represented. In addition to this we have new participants from Georgia, Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Egypt. The number of participants is increasing every year. This year the Expo hosted 86 companies.

• What suggestions do you have for foreign tourists?

I would suggest participation in exhibitions in various countries for the purpose of attracting more tourists. This year Expo Group LLC participated in exhibitions in Tehran, Berlin and represented Armenian tourism. In the fall we have new plans to be involved in outbound tourism. 

During Expo we had a tour around the represented pavilions. 

Lilit Hovhannisyan represented Armenia Tourism periodic which is also widely spread in RF. The aim of periodic is to spread information about Armenia. During our conversation the director of periodic Lilit Hovhannisyan emphasized the importance of such exhibitions.

“In fact, even a small event contributes to the development of tourism, the organization of such an exhibition at least once a year is very much welcomed, during which travel agencies and hotels can introduce their offers and acquire new cooperation ”.

We also had a talk with Hayq Tour tourist agency director Vardan Avagyan who mentioned that the aim of their participation in the Expo is to have their contribution to the development of Armenian tourism and acquire new partners.
