This year on March 17 the start ceremony of the program “The Medical support for Syrian-Armenian needy people living in Armenia” took place and the memorandum of the cooperation was signed in “Izmirlyan’’ medical center.
The memorandum was signed by the director of the ‘’Izmirlyan’’ medical center Armen Charchian, the director of the ‘’Izmirlyan’’ foundation in Armenia Lusine Galajian, the director of the center of social services of Mother See of Holy Etchmiatzin Priest Ter-Markos Mangasarian, the stuff manager of the Ministry of Diaspora of RA Firdus Zakarian, the head director of the foundation of ''Armenian General Benelovent Union'' in Armenia Vasken Yakoubian, the president of govermental organization of the “Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians` Issues'' Lena Halajian, the president of “ALEPPO’’ Compatriotic Charitable Organization Ani Balkhian.
In his speech about the start of the program and further process the director and the Professor of the “Izmirlyan” Medical Center Armen Charchian mentioned that it will last two years estimated.
“Approximately 500 operations or serious medical interventions will be fullfilled which, of course, will be differentiated from casual advisory visits. Consultations will be free. If after the consultation a patient needs an operation or any kind of medical intervention it will be fulfilled within the framework of this program. The operations will be done by the doctors of ''Izmirlyan'' medical center. If there is need of any other area of medical interventions, appropriate specialists will be invited'',-said Armen Charchian.
The director of the foundation of ''Izmirlyan'' in Armenia Lusine Galajian mentioned that in this particular period the best help for Syrian-Armenians will be medical support according to her years of experience.
"The Medical support for Syrian-Armenian needy people living in Armenia" program is funded by ‘’Izmirlyan’’ Foundation for approxiately 100,000 USD, Mother See of Holy Echmiatzin for approximately 50,000 USD. Concerning to ''Izmirlyan'' medical center it will supply 45% discount to all Syrian-Armenians.
