Liposuction improves body contours and proportion by removing excess fat deposits.
Liposuction is a type of cosmetic surgery that removes fat from the human body in an attempt to change its shape. Liposuction techniques may be used to reduce localized fat deposits (e.g. abdomen, hips).
The following types of liposuction are carried out:
Suction Assisted Liposuction
This type of liposuction is a standard method when the surgeon works manually and the success of the surgery depends mainly on the qualification of the specialist. Through the small incisions special instruments are inserted below the skin to manually loosen fat. Suction is applied to remove the fat from the body with specialized vacuum-powered equipment. Special bandages, underwear will be sufficient for patients within two months after surgery.
Ultra Sound Assisted Liposuction
In ultrasound-assisted or ultrasonic liposuction ultrasound vibration bursts the walls of the fat cells which makes possible to remove large volume of fat. This method also makes the postoperative recovery period slow. Special garment is sufficient for patients within a month after surgery.
Soft Lipomodelling
This is a contemporary method and the name means 'less aggressive lipomodelling'. The methodology consists in breaking down fat deposits through high frequency electrical field. The liquefied fat is aspirated through small pores. Special bandages will be sufficient for patients within the two weeks after surgery. This method does not require patient hospitalization. The patient can return to work within two or three days after surgery.
It was revealed that the safest method is the standard manual type of liposuction. Despite the fact that the other methods are easier and less tiring for the patient and surgeon, they have the risk of further complications. The most dangerous complication is skin necrosis. The cause of which is the impact of the laser and ultrasound devices. Post operation complications become evident in later stages of post operative period.
The manual or vibration methods are more laborious for the specialist, however, in case of proper technology use, it is totally safe.
In all types of liposuction, regardless of any method you choose to improve your body contours, it is not recommended to remove more than two liters of fatty tissues by one operation. It is preferable first to apply conservative methods of weight normalization (diet, pharmacotherapy, fitness, etc.) and then carry out liposuction to improve body contours.
